A few weekends ago, boogs and I were left to our own devices when B went down to Auburn to watch a basketball game, so I tried to find something easy and fun for us to do. I found a DIY for slime, and decided to make it red and glittery for Valentine’s Day! This would be super cute in tiny little mason jars tied with ribbon for classmate Valentine’s – if you’re into that kind of thing. We are actually handing out generic store-bought PJ Mask Valentines, because that’s how we roll. BUT if you’re reaching for mom of the year, then the mason jar glitter slime is definitely the way to go.
WHAT YOU NEED
// 6 oz bottle of Elmer’s Glitter Glue
// 1/2 TBSP baking soda
// 1 & 1/2 TBSP contact lens solution ( I kept a bit extra on hand as well to help with the stickiness)
WHAT YOU DO
// Put all the ingredients into a bowl. Make sure you get all the glue out of bottle – it may take some patience to wait for it to ooze out.
// Fold them together with a spatula.
// Play! If it sticks to you, add a little bit more contact solution to the mixture.
Sheffield had a blast playing with it, and believe it or not, it has kept pretty perfectly, and he is still able to play with it a good three weeks later. If you need a rainy day activity or just something to break up some TV time, definitely bust out this easy peasy craft.
