I absolutely love having Mondays off. LOVE IT. I know that it may not always be the case, so I am soaking up every minute of these things as I can.
And this past Monday was no different. B and I got to meet up for breakfast (which we never get to do, because you know, work and shit) at Trattoria. I then got to catch up on a whole bunch of house errands, and then I went to pick up boo from daycare for an early prison break. We finished his pudding snack (which all the kids loved — I had no idea that pudding was such a popular snack idea for kids — tucking that away for future reference), and then we headed over to Vulcan Park.
We haven’t gotten to go as a family yet, so I didn’t want to take him up in Vulcan without his dad. Mostly because I’m not so good with heights, but the other reason being, I’m sure B would want to be included in that memory. The weather was gorgeous, again, so we ran and played around the base of Vulcan. He ran and ran and got out all of his energy, while I snapped some photos.
He made friends with mostly everyone there – just something about a baby running around and squealing with delight, I guess. His crazy personality is definitely my most favorite thing about him – he is fearless and friendly and beautiful. He reaches out for your hand, but knows when he wants to be independent – which was most of the time at Vulcan, as he just took it all in on is own. Seeing the world through his eyes is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever experienced. Sometimes I have to take a step back, and just think about how far we’ve come, and how he is my little toddler now, and not my little baby. I truly appreciate these extra days I get to spend with my little guy.
