Last week was a terrible week in the James household for cars. I completely and fully blame it on foreign cars.
Ever since I had my first Ford, I had driven nothing but Fords. My first ever was a black Ford Escort — I drove that thing through high school, through college, and a year after I graduated college. And then when that car had seen its better days, I got a Ford Focus. Little Freddie was the best Focus in the land. I loooooved him, and he was the best. And the only reason I got rid of him was because I was getting a company car, which was a Ford Escape!! So when I quit that awful horrible job, I needed another car.
B believes in foreign cars — me, not so much. So I ended up with a silver Volvo (which is NOT pretty much a Ford, so don’t even say it), and B got a Volkswagen.
With this Volvo, I have had someone back into me; had a flat tire; had a belt break in the middle of the highway; ran into another car at a parking deck (no harm, no foul on this one. I left a note with my number, and they never called. Boo yah.), and then last week. Last week….while I was sitting at work minding my own business, we had our lawn mowers at work mowing the grass. Apparently a lawn mower went all crazy and decided to not be on grass, but on the asphalt behind my car where a giant rock hit and shattered my back windshield. I blame it completely on the stupid car.
Luckily, the place was insured, and they replaced my back windshield free of charge, and even saved my little Aubie sticker.
And then on the way down to Easter at the in-laws, B noticed his car doing something funky. So, we pull over and check it out — we have a flat tire. I don’t know what we did to deserve bad luck with cars last week, but luckily B is super handy and got the spare on — then we had to buy a new tire. Clearly the only thing to do in this situation is to get the dog in the driver seat and take a picture.
So last night, I snapped this super cute picture of Stella, because, she was chilling looking all cute and stuff. I am pretty sure this will be my go to picture when I’m feeling rough, because it embodies her so well.
I hope you all have a week full of non eventful car stuff!
