This Christmas B and I wanted to do something really nice for ourselves. So you know what we did???
We bought a new mattress!!
A new Stearns & Foster mattress.
And by our excitement over this new mattress, you would think we were like 80 years old. Which, according to the sales guy, this mattress might last us until then. Let’s get a little background on why we needed this new mattress so badly, yes?
B’s mattress was from his bed that he had while he was in college — not while at college, but the one that stayed at his parents house. Side note: we graduated from Auburn in 2006.
My beautiful mattress cost $200 and was from Sticks N Stuff. Yep, my Alabama people know what I’m talking about. After I finally decided that it was time to get rid of my four poster white bed that I had my whole life (listen, I was in love with that bed — I had it for YEARS!) – I decided to upgrade to a queen bed, and I needed a queen mattress. I was two years out of college, and had a job, but mind you, one that didn’t pay the best. And I didn’t want to spend all my life savings on a mattress. So off to Sticks N Stuff I went for the cheapest piece of junk I could find.
In that mattresses defense, it did last all the way until Wednesday, so something can be said for it.
Anyway, back to the heaven that is our new mattress. I can’t feel when B moves. I can’t feel when Stell-dog moves — it’s simply just that great of a mattress. It’s a pillowtop mattress that works perfect for B and I. He likes it a little softer, and I like it firm (that’s what she said).
It was a split decision last Saturday afternoon; we did some research on the mattress while in the store laying on it and thinking this was the best thing ever, and apparently it really was a good deal (the same model, cheapest we could find was $1200 more than what we bought this guy for).
So we bought it. It was delivered on Tuesday. And Tuesday night was the best sleep I’d gotten in a solid five years or so.
So yes, I’m old now And yes, I just wrote an entire blog post about a mattress.
Whatever, I’m off to snuggle with some stuffed animals on my new awesome bed.
