When we were in Nashville, one of my friends texted me and was like, hey, we’re going to the zoo tomorrow, do you want to come? And I was like, YES!! Something super fun to do with the boo, and since I have my Mondays off, it was perfect.
I was excited to be able to just let the little guy roam around – since the place isn’t so crowded during the week, I wouldn’t have to keep such a close eye on him. And man, did he like to be able to just walk around and be free. He loved playing in the dirt and with the rocks, and he actually really got into seeing the animals this time – pointing and getting really excited. The first time we had taken the little guy to the zoo it was about a million degrees out, but Monday was great, so no one was miserable and we got to enjoy just strolling around.
We got to see the giraffes, and lions and tigers – some red pandas and an eagle and some sleepy felines. Sheffield loved seeing the red pandas and the ostriches, and got really excited about all the squirrels running around everywhere. He even got to take his first carousel ride – which he liked at first, but decided about three times around that it was pretty scary.
After the zoo, we decided to hit up some Mexican for lunch – which is never a bad idea – and head home for naps. It was so nice to get to spend a day with a good mommy friend and her daughter. I really am thankful for the time that I get to spend with these people – they definitely make my life better.
