So this trip happened in September, so a big giant WHOOPS on my part for never actually recapping it. And to be honest, I don’t really remember the day to day of what happened while we were there. We were down there for two days while my Dad and step-mom were down there, and then we spent two days on our own.
It was so much more fun going with the little guy since he was able to walk and play around in the sand and water. He wasn’t a total fan of the water, but we would have a few splash parties, and he seemed to get a little more comfortable with it. He was NOT a fan of his swimmies or his fish float, so we held him in our arms most of the time – but he seemed ok with that. We definitely need to get that kid into some swim lessons.
All that to say — super heavy picture post coming, and some super sporadic recapping. I just didn’t want the year to close without me at least mentioning this trip.
We got down to the beach pretty late, and boo was already getting fussy – but we did get some great sunset pictures! I mean look at how pretty!! Also, his red, white and blue swimming outfit has got to be my favorite – and he loves sleeping on daddy for those beach naps!
The second night we all went out to Pompano Joe’s for dinner. I love going to that place when we’re down there (as will be evidenced later by a second trip!) – they have yummy drinks and oysters! Boo even got the fried shrimp – although he took one bite and spit it out. My picky little kid. We also got in some more beach time and beach naps and pics with grandma and poppa before they left.
Later in the trip, we went back to Pompano Joe’s and got the infamous “baby tasting a lemon” pics. And this kids face! I die!! He was like, why are you doing this to me? But ugh, that little crabby outfit? So cute.
Our very last night there we ended up in some awesome little place that was built like a tiny little town. It was all pedestrian and full of restaurants and cute little shops. We ate some more oysters, and had a few drinks, and then walked around a little bit. We got some fudge and a caramel apple, and stumbled on a little playground area, where boo got to have his first slide! He was so addicted to it – we couldn’t keep him off it, and had to endure a complete meltdown when it was time to leave. I love that this little guy loves playing so much!
So that was our beach trip in a nutshell — or at least what I can remember of it. I remember lots of sun and fun, and that’s all you can ask for of the beach! Maybe I’ll remember to do a more timely update for our beach trip in 2017.
