I have always wanted to try out the Big Gay Ice Cream truck, but living in Alabama doesn’t lend itself to it!! I was so excited to get this book!
It’s colorful and fun! I mean, even the rainbow ice cream on the cover sparkles! The whole book is made up to be one big yearbook – with yearbook like pictures and mixed tapes. Celebrities get in on the fun with special recipes named after them, such as Rachael Rays Ray-Ray Sundae (an ice cream sundae with Fig sauce). They even have a bona fide recipe for Awesomesauce.
The authors break the book down into freshman, sophomore, junior and senior year — in true yearbook form. My favorite section was the section with all the shakes/drinks. I mean a grape soda float and a Tang-creamsicle shake? Sign me up!
I don’t have an ice cream maker – but reading all these recipes definitely makes me want to get one! I’d definitely recommend this book to any ice cream lover out there — especially ones who prefer more than just plain vanilla!
