In just a few short weeks, my work bestie will be leaving me. While I’m happy as hell for her, it’s going to be really sad without her. It’s really hard to find someone you just click with at work, let alone in life. We share the exact same taste in music, foul language and love of tacos and cheese dip. If you think about it, you spend most of your time at work — those people, if you choose to let them, can become your second family.
And that’s how I think of Brit. I’ve lost touch with so many people once I’ve left a company, or they’ve left the company, and I would prefer for that not to happen with her. It’d be really hard to imagine my life without her. Okay, enough with the sappy. This weekend, I threw her a fiesta themed going away party, featuring, what else? Our favorite: Tacos!
I got most of the party themed stuff at Party City, with select items from Target. Also, any occasion is an excuse for fresh flowers, so I got to stock up on sunflowers and gerber daisies. I do have to say that it turned out marvelously, and this house has been since deemed “the margarita house.” We make ’em right y’all! Here are some pictures from that night!
It was fun to get everyone together to have a few drinks and tacos and reminisce. I am truly going to miss that girl.
