I was so excited to dock into Cozumel – I had never been to Mexico before! It’s always so amazing to be able to knock another country off the list, and we had the best shore excursion booked for this trip!
We got off the boat a little early just to walk around and explore. Yes, I know that the port area isn’t the most representative of the complete area, but we did enjoy getting to hear mariachis, and perusing the souvenir shops – Sheff even got his first stamp in his passport!
After walking around for a bit, we got ready to head to Dolphinaris!! We were going to get to swim with dolphins! And y’all – it was such an amazing experience. We were lucky that they allowed B’s parents spectator tickets so they could watch the whole things – and also lucky that any kid under 5 was free. Our trainer was incredible, and our dolphin, Aphrodite, was the oldest one (at 40!) that they had. She was so sweet. We got to touch her, do a belly ride, kiss her, give her a hug and “dance” with her. It was absolutely incredible to be so close to such an amazing creature.
After our swim with the dolphin, we got to head up for food and beverages. I won’t lie – the excursion was a little pricey, but it was definitely worth it. I’m so glad we decided to do it.
We made our way back to the port area – did a little shopping and boarded the ship. We were all exhausted, so we took a nap as soon as we hit the stateroom. It was such an amazing day in Cozumel.
