Next week, I will be in San Francisco with my sister. And while I am super pumped to be able to go on vacation, I’m of course, super sad about leaving my family. So I tried to sneak in a whole bunch of fun moments.
On Monday when I went to OTF, I was happy to see my name at the top of my age group for Marathon Month. I killed it, and was so proud of myself. I got a gold medal and everything.
On Tuesday, B and I had lunch at Brick and Tin – I had a delicious brisket panini and B had some pork tacos. We then walked over to Pizitz Food Hall and shared a small cup of ice cream. We took a stroll through the city afterwards, and I got an amazing picture of the John Hand Building (aka, the SHIPT building).
Tuesday night, we met up with some friends over at Filling Station to have a birthday dinner with one of our couple friends. Sheffield and their daughter get along so well, and Sheffield even had his first try of spaghetti noodles. I think the picture below shows that he is a big fan. We have already made plans for several more play dates during the summer.
On Wednesday, I met up with Nadine and Morgan to have lunch at Brat Brot, a new spot in Lakeview, focusing on German eats. I decided to try a Colaweizen (a hefeweizen beer mixed with Coke) and a bratwurst and a pretzel. That beer was amazing, as was the food. They have a giant courtyard and are family friendly, so I see some kiddo/parent dates to that place in the near future.
Because I’m uber-dramatic, I wanted B and I to have a good fun meal Thursday night – our last meal together in case anything happens. Also morbid, right? So we ordered in Mexican (because where would our relationship be without tacos and queso? I don’t even know), and had a few beverages.
My sister and I fly out tomorrow for our almost week long adventure in Cali. If you’ve been to SF and have anything that I absolutely have to try – please shoot the recs my way!
I hope you guys have a great weekend!
