Thankfully, this week wasn’t as awful as last week – I seem to have found a rhythm with my new position at work, and I think it can only get better. Unfortunately, the world of transportation never stops, so I will be working on Monday. It is what it is, right? Hopefully not too much, so I can enjoy some cooking out and outside fun.
Onto a few things about this week:
I have been on a good reading roll. I haven’t read a dud in quite awhile. This week I finished up City Of Girls, and it was full of amazing quotes – two of my favorites are below.
A few nights ago, B and I were watching some lady make cannoli. And then I was like, you know what, I really want to do that. So that is my challenge for this weekend. Lord help me. Anyway, I bought these mini cannoli forms (because everything is cuter in miniature), and we’ll see how it goes.
My friend, Rachel, posted this mug awhile back on her Instagram stories. I said I need to have that, and a few days later, it arrived on my door step. It is the absolute best present for quarantine, and coffee tastes way better in it. She is a local ceramics artist in Decatur, and you can find her Etsy shop here.
I picked this up on my last Drive-Up target run – they were having a beauty sale, and it was really pretty, and who can’t always use a little more glow? I mixed it in with my foundation ( wearing make-up, because I’m slowly being transitioned back into the office), and I really liked the results. It wasn’t completely dewy – so you’re not super shiny, but it just gave you that subtle pretty glow.
If you are getting a three-day weekend, I hope you have a great one! If not, well, then I’ll be right there suffering with you. Remember to be thankful for those who put their lives in danger so you can live how you want. Happy Memorial Day!
