I did something weird at the beginning of this week – something I’ve never really done. I wrote down a list of posts I wanted to get churned out before the end of the year. They included my grandma’s coconut cake recipe (blue ribbon award winning, BTW!) for all you peeps who need a last minute, easy recipe for Christmas – Sheffield’s festive holiday outfits (including those super trendy bloggy flatlays!) – the beach trip from September that I seemed to have forgot to put on this blog – and what we did for our daycare teacher gifts.
I still have time (maybe) to get some of these out, but I’m not sure how many I’ll actually get finished or started. So you may see some Christmas posts after the fact.
So what have I been doing instead of doing all of this? Well, I’ll tell you.
We’ve been playing in all the leaves in our yard. Our house sits on a giant corner lot – which means lots of trees and lots of leaves. If you throw a bunch of leaves at boo, this is the face you get. I’ve never heard such giggles in my life. He had a blast!
We’ve been watching Frozen for the umpteenth time — and you guys? I don’t really care — I LOVE that movie, and I’ll watch it as many times as Sheffield wants.
We’ve been turning our old guest room into boo’s new playroom. Holla for a room all his own, complete with TV and teepee and all the toys he could ask for.
We’ve been going to Chuck E Cheese for a sweet four year old’s birthday party, and actually eating pizza! He loves the crust!
We’ve been baking cookies and sending out Christmas cards (on-time for the most part), and visiting sweet new babies. I’m looking at you sweet baby Zoe girl.
We’ve been adding new words to our repertoire: we can now successfully say about fifteen words. Hearing that sweet voice is one of my most favorite things on the planet.
One of my goals in 2017 is to get better at blogging things on time — and to blog more consistently. I love this little hobby, and I’d really like to devote more time to it.
