Yesterday was National Ice Cream Day, and while I try really hard to stick to the food national days, I’ve fallen short this year on all but two – doughnuts and ice cream. Shocker where my priorities are, right?
So since it’s been a million degrees here in Alabama, we decided that we needed to go get ice cream. There is a sweet little truck, Big Spoon Birmingham, that parks itself up at a little grill diner on top of Bluff Mountain, so we decided to go there. I couldn’t wait to see little boo dive into an ice cream cone! I got just a plain vanilla scoop in a birthday cake cone (that cone made that ice cream!), and sat down to let the kid dig in.
And he dug in y’all. He couldn’t get enough. I loved watching him get ice cream all over his face and arms — it’s like a rite of passage, no? I love all these small, but super sentimental milestones. It’s so fun to watch him grow and experience new things – I can’t get enough.
