This past weekend was a good one! We ventured out just a tiny bit on Sunday for Father’s Day, but for the most part, we did our thing in the backyard. Hanging out in the pool, sunning and reading.
For lunch on Friday, I finally took the plunge and returned to Pizitz Food Hall to get some lunch. I have been enjoying all the money I’ve been saving by bringing my lunch, but I wanted to reward myself, so I went to Ashley Mac and got their cheeseburger, and y’all- that burger was something else. It ranks up there with my favorite from Back Forty. B and I ate dinner in bed and went to bed pretty early.
Saturday morning, I went out shopping with my sister – masks on of course!! I had to run a few more errands for Father’s Day, and make a return. After that, I immediately went home and got in my swimsuit to have a pool day! We were outside all afternoon – dare I say I actually don’t miss being about to go out and do things? Plus, it’s cheaper. I will say that I do miss traveling, ( I am having some serious NOLA withdrawals), but we are not quite there yet.
Sunday morning, we got up and headed to Hero Doughnuts’ new location downtown. We all got doughnuts to celebrate B – and then walked around Railroad Park a bit. Sheff loved seeing all the animals – the ducks, fish and turtles! We got a little bit of outside time before the rain started. B wanted a Mexican dinner for Father’s Day, so we went and got pitchers of margaritas and cheese dip to celebrate him.
Birmingham also recently painted 1st Ave S with Black Lives Matter, and I got a pic of Sheff sitting on the barrier in front of it. I’m so proud of my little city!
I hope you all had a great weekend!
