Jar of Hearts – Jennifer Hillier // I had heard some amazing things about this book from other SUYB-ers, and holy moly, it did not disappoint. Definite page turner – I tried to predict the ending, but was way way wrong, and the actual ending was way more awesome than what I even tried to figure out. Loved this one – if mystery/thriller type things are your jam, you’ll love this one.
The One Man- Andrew Gross // Another WW2 fiction that I adored. It started with a man who very rarely talked about his past, but decided to open up to his daughter once she found some things from his old life. It was a story about a man sneaking into a camp to try to rescue a very important man that the US needed for his knowledge, and followed the story of his journey of 72 hours back in Poland. If WW2 fiction is your thing, definitely read this book – it was amazing.
City of Girls – Elizabeth Gilbert // I loved this book so much. The story of a girl coming of age in the 1940’s in New York. The narrator is writing a letter to Angela, describing her entire life and how she got to where she is. I can’t say enough about how good this book was. READ IT.
It Ends With Us – Colleen Hoover // I haven’t read any Hoover’s yet (that I can remember anyway), and this one was a nice little read. I’m a sucker for any soul mate story, and this one definitely provided. Super easy to read, and gets you sucked in pretty quickly.
Long Bright River – Liz Moore // Wow – this book! I had seen great things said about it in the link-up, but wow. I loved all the rocks overturned throughout the book – and I loved how perfectly imperfect the main character was. It was just such a great book.
