You turned 21 months exactly one week ago today – and I can’t believe we are a short three months away from having a two-year-old. Every day we can’t believe how big you are, and how much you have learned.
You are saying so many words now that we’ve lost count. You’re very slowly starting to put phrases together: “I don’t know,” “Night-night,” “Bye daddy (mama, lella).” And it’s so sweet to hear your little voice.
You are incredibly impatient, and everything must go the exact way you want or you are not a happy camper. For example – if we don’t turn down the street you want to when we’re going for a walk, you definitely let me know that you’re unhappy about it. If we don’t give you the book that you want, you let us know . I can’t blame you for being impatient – you get that from both your dad and me.
You are a child of routine, and any deviation from the routine is unacceptable. Even if it’s a stop at the park or a stop for cupcakes on the way home. You are just ready to go home, play outside, eat, bath and go to bed. Which has made us keeping you to a schedule all the easier. When it’s bed time, you are ready for it.
You are still not a fan of meat, but you are widening your choices, and will even humor me sometimes, and eat a half of a chicken nugget. We still rely on your old favorites – peanut butter, hummus, yogurt, grilled cheeses and pancakes to keep you fed. You also still love biscuits, and following suit with your daddy, you call them “big-tits.” We laugh every time.
You would spend every minute of every day outside if we left you. You are incredibly ticklish on your belly and behind your knees. You sometimes sit in your car seat and just laugh to yourself. You give absolutely everything a hug. You are stubborn and whiny, and we just love you to pieces. You make our lives complete.
