I know I say it every month, but are you serious? Are you really seven months old? You are now closer to your first birthday than you are to the day you were born. Crazy!
You have learned so much in the past month — you have started holding your own bottle, you’re full on crawling, climbing up and down stairs, and pulling up!! You are so independent, and you’d rather be off exploring the house than being held by me or anyone else. Except for after bath and snack time – then you’re ready for your bedtime snuggle. Those still melt my heart.
You spent your first two nights in a row away from mama — it was really hard to be away from you that long, and I doubt that we’ll be doing that for awhile again. I also ate my words, and we co-slept for the first time. Although that was the exception, not the rule. And I won’t lie, I loved it. I also know that it was probably because you were in a new place at your grandparents, but it felt good to have you in my arms all night.
You still haven’t said any “real” words yet, but you babble and coo all day long. But we are not going to wish any more time away — we realize that with every new day comes something new to you, and you are so curious, my baby. You are always looking around taking everything in.
You’re still an awesome eater — having tried almost every fruit and vegetable out there. Green beans are still a no, and apples upset your tummy. Your favorites are sweet potatoes ( number 1 in your book), bananas and prunes. You still wake up at least once a night – between about 2-4am, but I’ve really stopped hating it, and have really started to enjoy those twenty minutes I have you all to myself in the dead of night just holding you. It’s been enough to bring me to tears, that’s for sure – just staring at that sweet face.
Sheffield – you continue to be the everything in our lives. You make us so happy with your sweet baby giggles and your adventurousness and fearlessness. You truly are one amazing little baby.
