You are an entire year old. You are an entire year old. Where in the world did this past year go? I can’t tell you how many times your crazy mama cried on your birthday — watching you walk around and babble – you look like such a little boy, and not my sweet baby anymore.
This past year has flown by – and you have taught me more about unconditional love than I ever thought possible. Every time I look into those deep brown eyes with those longer than all get out eyelashes, I fall more and more in love. You are sweeter than the sweetest honey – you are my sweetie pea.
From that first cry to your first steps and your first big belly laugh – from those early morning cry fests to you sleeping through the night – from your first solid foods, your first swim, your first zoo trip – from many visits from all the grandparents – from your first word and all that came after – from those milk drunk snuggle sessions and late night I just need my mama snuggles – from your first pair of shoes and your first smile and your first taste of something sweet. Sweet baby boy, this was our first year together.
I can’t tell you all of the joy you have brought to my life – what I can tell you is that every day I am here, I will love you. I will never be the perfect mom, and sometimes you will go to daycare in mismatched clothes with puffs in your hair, but I will always love you. No one will ever love you more.
Keep smiling on little booger man, because you truly are the best.
I love you,
