Birmingham has an amazing minor league baseball park. You can see the city skyline from your seat – they have the most delicious hot dogs, a play park for the kiddos, and a stadium that you can walk all the way around multiple times, for those who have a toddler that thinks sitting still is the absolute worst.
We decided to take boogs to his first game on Sunday just to get him out of the house to do something. Kids under 2 are free (so we have that until July) and our tickets were only $8. An incredibly reasonable price to pay for an afternoon of distraction. It was the most picture perfect day to take him, and he was in such a good mood! We only made it an inning sitting in our actual seats (bribed with popcorn), and then walked around for the next four. He loved the hot dogs and being able to run around. He was interested in what was going on in the game for about forty seconds, but hey, it was still a great day.
The game started at 3pm, which is the perfect time for us. He finishes his nap at 2, and then we headed straight to the game. There are at least 4 more games like that this year, so we are definitely going to be going to those, as well. Luckily, B’s company has a free pair for the season, so we may be able to get in on some of those for the rest of the season! If you’re in Birmingham, definitely get down to Regions Field for a game. If for nothing else, the amazing hot dogs.
