The Ex – Alafair Burke // Holy moly this book. Another mystery/crime book, that I absolutely loved. I thought I had it figured out, but nope nope nope. So many good twists and turns in this book. Definitely read it if this genre is your thing.
Educated – Tara Westover //This book came highly recommended from you SUYB peeps, and once I got into it, I couldn’t stop. I love how she triumphed over her childhood and lack of education, but it sort of infuriated me how drawn she was to her toxic family, and how she kept going back. I get it, but then again, I don’t get it. I even think the no non-fiction folks would like it, because most of the time the people read like characters from a novel. Definitely put it on your list.
Grist Mill Road – Christopher Yates // This book took me no time to get into. Somebody from the link up recommended it a while back ( I can’t remember who – and it took months for me to get off the waiting list), and I was enthralled from the beginning. A childhood tragedy follows three main characters through their adult life – where everything comes to a head. There were a lot of bad reviews on Goodreads, but I honestly couldn’t put it down. A dark, twisty, mental-thriller (I really don’t want to use the word thriller here, but can’t think of a better one), it was definitely worth the read.
One of Us is Lying – Karen M. McManus // I have heard such good things about this book from this link-up, and I finally got off the wait list for it – and it was so worth the wait. I got so involved in this book, trying to figure out what happened, and how it happened, and how everyone was connected. Definitely a good, fast read.
Mrs Fletcher – Tom Perrotta // Raunchy and fun. A mom rediscovers her sexuality after her son leaves for college – the son discovers maybe college life isn’t for him. Add in a few other characters POV – a transgender teacher, a threesome and MILF porn, and this is what this book is about. I absolutely loved it – super quick read. Sometimes you just need a good raunchy book.
