A Woman is no Man – Etaf Rum // No sugar coating – this book was at times really hard to read. But it is a necessity to read. It’s so hard to be able to put yourself into a situation like that, because it’s something that I have not had to face. The book is about being an Arabic woman, and what they have endured for so many years. This book had me in tears, but also smiling at the end. This book will definitely be one of my tops from this year.
An Anonymous Girl – Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen // I really enjoyed this book. Told from the perspective of a study subject and a therapist, it was really fun trying to figure out what in the world was going on, and who could be trusted. It was a thriller, page-turner, mystery type book – if that’s your thing, definitely pick this one up.
Vox – Christina Dalcher // I am such a sucker for dystopian novels, and this one sure delivered. Imagine being a women and only being allowed 100 words per day. No more women in positions of power – no more women in the workforce, nothing. This book was everything I wanted in a novel like this. Including super strong women characters. Definitely read it if this is your type book.
Believe Me -JP Delaney // Whoa, this book. I had no idea who I could trust, what in the hell was going on, and I loved every minute of it. It definitely threw me for a loop, but a really good loop. I am definitely becoming a huge fan of this author.
The Last Mrs. Parrish – Liv Constantine // I felt like I was on the wait list for this book for forever. But the wait was worth it! You definitely end up hating most of the characters in this book. It’s just one of those things are never as they seem kind of books, and I loved how the book went from one woman’s story to the other, because there are always two sides to every story.
PS I Still Love You – Jenny Han // I’ve never been a fan of series, since I like a nice clean ending, and I rarely read YA (nothing against it, I just like a lot of crime and mystery), but I do like this series. I like how it takes me back to exactly how I thought back in the day. It’s just a lovely reminder of how easy things were, even though we all thought it was so bad back then. Plus, I love how Lara Jean is always baking to deal with stuff, because that’s exactly what I do.
