This past Mardi Gras, we got to spend it as a family in New Orleans. There were so many pictures taken, and I’ll get to getting most of them up, but for now, these are my top 7 moments from our trip.
7. // Muses Parade – The Muses are my absolute favorite. All of their floats are absolutely beautiful. Plus the hope of catching one of their gorgeous high heels is enough to make anyone giddy. Sheffield did end up catching a shoe – a little baby Muses shoe, so it made it all the better for him for his first parade!
6. // The Greasing of the Poles at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in the French Quarter – The used to have to grease the poles to keep people from climbing up onto their balcony. Now it’s a big to-do complete with a competition and lots of sexual innuendo.
5.// Sheffield getting invited up to play the trumpet with a Jackson Square brass band.
4. // An amazing family photo (finally) waiting on Iris and Tucks!
3. Sheffield learning how to hula hoop from the pretty girls next to us. They also pretty much gave him every throw they caught.
2.// Mardi Gras morning. Nothing like getting up, eating King Cake, and drinking an Abita Strawberry – all before 10 am.
1.// Getting to see my girl Lindsey, her boo, and her new baby! All of the family and friend time!! It was definitely my favorite part of Mardi Gras in New Orleans!
It was such an amazing five days, and I can’t wait to share more with you!
