It’s been a hot minute since I’ve talked about anything Alabama-y. There are new breweries and restaurants popping up all the time! We’re so lucky that we get to try these places over the weekends, and especially that we get to go with friends!
When we went there, the place had not yet been open for a long time, so our first beer I tried was the Hoppy Blonde Ale. It was soo good. I enjoy my beers quite hoppy, and this was a really good one. One of the things we like doing when trying out new places is getting a bunch of apps to try a little of everything.
The appetizers and small plates we tried:
fries with white bbq sauce – y’all, their white BBQ sauce is something to write home about. Plus almost all of their fries had a delicious crunch, which is an important quality in fries for me!
Cuban egg rolls – ham, pork, swiss cheese, pickles and dijonnaise all rolled up. Again, that dijonnaise sauce was incredible. These little things were so good, and even S took a bite.
ale-braised pork belly – I think this was my favorite of the four. I mean, it is really hard for me not to fall in love with anything pork belly. So tender and so good.
IPA buffalo wings – Another winner, and I’m really picky about wings. I don’t like them too saucy or too dry. These were just right.
Nadine ordered this Alehouse burger, and OMG it was amazing. It had beer-cheese spread, onion straws and bacon, and I can’t be friends with you if you hate any of those things. She gave me just a little bite, and I would definitely come back here just to get a burger.
Since we have been there, it looks like they have added a few more menu options, so we will definitely need to head back to Ferus for more!
