How far along? 38 weeks. He is just plumping now — all organs are ready for the outside world (so come on Sheffy — let’s go!!)
Weight gain: I’m rocking the under 30 pounds gained. That was my goal starting out, and I’m really proud of myself for eating healthy (mostly) and staying active.
I’m feeling: scared shitless? That question mark should be like a million !!!!!, but it’s a good scared. It’s the scared that means I’m going to be giving birth soon — and even though that’s scary, it’s sort of awesome. I still have yet to feel any real contractions, which is super annoying, because I need those to dilate — and the doctor told me to expect to go at least a week past my due date. For now, Sheffield is pretty content kicking me in my ribs (he’s finally, FINALLY, back to head down) and chillin in his comfy little home. Good news? Doc is predicting a high 6 pound or low 7 pound baby. Whoop!
Movement: Still pretty strong and consistent. I have noticed it’s more of a wave-like feeling instead of the jabs, and he has the hiccups A LOT.
Miss anything? WINE. I want a glass of WINE!!!!! Oh yeah and sleep. Sleep is pretty much non-existent now — only getting about 3 hours a night. Sleeping on my side is pretty uncomfortable as well, so I’ve had to resort to stacking three pillows and sleeping on an incline.
Looking forward to: my hair appointment on Friday. I’m squeezing one more in before his arrival, so I won’t look like a total bum for the next few months before I can head back. And of course feeling my first contraction, so I know we’re at least getting close.
Dad is: Chillin’ sort of like Sheffield. If he’s at all worried or stressed out or anything, he hides it well.
I’m soooo anxious to see his little face — these last few weeks are going to be torture!! Come on little man!!
