This past weekend was one of the best in awhile – it might have been because the weather was picture perfect, or just because we got to try a few new things.
B’s parents got us one of those things to attach to the back of our bikes, and so we put it on there and took kiddo for a bike ride. We basically spent most of Saturday and Friday night outside, because it was just so nice out. I mean, 70 degrees in the middle of January? Yes, please.
We were also invited to a two-year-old’s birthday Saturday afternoon at Let’s Play over off 280, and it was actually so much fun! Boo loved the ball pit, and since everything was super soft, we could pretty much just watch him to make sure he was still in the place, and not have to worry about him falling and hurting himself. He also ate pizza for the first time not cut up, and my mama heart couldn’t have been prouder.
That night, B took us to Local Taco over in Mountain Brook – I’d been wanting to go there forever! And it certainly didn’t disappoint! Their margaritas were so good, and we each got two different varieties of tacos just to try them. We got the Nashville hot chicken, steak, baja spicy shrimp and brisket. And they were all delicious, but the favorite was definitely the shrimp. And while boo didn’t get in on the taco action, he was pretty happy with his mac n cheese and fruit – and to top it all off, he actually behaved pretty well.
Sunday, we got up pretty early to get breakfast at Holler and Dash, and then went for about an 8 mile bike ride. Boo really enjoyed it, and I’m so glad that he loves it. I love teaching him about being outdoors and being healthy. I really want to take him hiking once we’ve got some time. After thoroughly wearing him out, he took a nap, while B and I watched the first half of the Packer game – and then, THEN did you see that finish?!?! SO much fun, but being a Packer fan is definitely heart-attack inducing.
I love weekends like these – it was just so much fun, and I love getting those days with my two guys. Weekends – let’s vote for more of those, right?
