Instead of our normal drink out, B and I decided to just stay in and play in the pool. Boogs and I stopped at Dreamcakes on the way home to surprise B with some cupcakes, and as soon as we got home, we hopped in the pool. For some reason, the bees were horrible. One flew into (INTO) Sheff’s ear and stung him. You can see how red it is in the picture below. It makes me shudder every time I think about it – I mean, a bee in your ear. He took it like a champ, and at least it’s good to know now that he’s not allergic.
Saturday morning I went to OTF as normal, and then when we got home, we went over to Hero Doughnuts. I got the fried egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, and it was seriously the most delicious breakfast sandwich I’d ever had. And it was really nice on Saturday morning – so we walked over to Homewood Park and boogs ran crazy for about an hour or so. Later that morning, we met aunt Juney for lunch at GM Pizzeria in Homewood. I got the giant meatball, and B and I split some cheesy garlic bread, burrata, and zucchini flowers. Sheffield even loved the meatball, so we will definitely have to head back to that place for sure! The rest of the afternoon was spent making a giant slip n slide (or as Sheff calls it – slipper slide) – which was us basically just putting two slip n slides together. It was such a blast! If you’ve never just thrown yourself down a slip-n-slide as an adult I highly recommend it.
Sunday we didn’t really do much of anything. We are trying to teach Sheffield to play independently in his room, but he’s just not having it. He has to have mom or dad in the room. We’re working on it. We did a lot of playing outside – with sidewalk chalk and bubbles. Then in the afternoon we ran a bunch of errands – I found cheeseburger shaped chocolate cookies, and B found banana chocolate Pocky. We also found “salami whips,” and we’re definitely going to need to find some more of that stuff. B and I ended the night with a shrimp and crabcake dinner and went to bed early.
We’ve also been binging this season’s Last Chance U – and I have mixed feelings about this year’s coach. It’s really hard to pull for them, and most of the players are really unlikable. We’re still going to watch, of course, because it is football. We’ve got a pretty low-key weekend coming up – as I’ll need it after spending a week away from my family. Hope you’re having a great start to your week.
