I’m back to my old ways – posting about weekend stuff on a Wednesday. I’ve had some bullshit stuff happen this week already, so it is what it is.
This past Friday, I got in from Minnesota around 10:15 in the morning. My first flight left MN at 5:30 in the morning so needless to say I was pretty damn tired. However, it was B’s birthday, so we met at Rougaroux for a po’boy and frose. It was delicious! And because my work is awesome, and understood that I was exhausted, I worked the rest of the day from home. And because my sister is awesome, she babysat Sheff for a little bit on Friday night, so B and I could have a mini date night. We hit up Shu Shop for some appetizers – pork gyoza and crab claws. Both were amazing. We had plans to try the ramen as well, but B was craving something a little different, so we ended up at Brat Brot. I had a brat and the garten fries, and they give you the most amazing dipping sauce with them.
Saturday, Sheff and I ran a ton of errands to give B some time to himself after a week of being single dad. We hit up Target, Home Goods and World Market. They had a half case wine sale, so I was all over that. After naps, we hit up the slip n slide and played in the pool. B and I ate some dinner and started a show called Unreal that I’m not obsessed with.
Sunday, B made us crab beignets for brunch – and Aunt Juney came over to hang out with us. After naps we went to run a few errands (Sheffield got himself a pair of light up shoes that I swear he would sleep in if we let him), and then went up to Bluff Park Ice Cream for an ice cream cone. Sheff also got into some paints and some Paw Patrol temporary tattoos.
All in all, it was a pretty laid back weekend. It was so great to get to spend so much time with that little guy after spending a week away for work. I feel like it’s going to be summer here for a few more months, so looking forward to more slip n slide moments and ice cream atop Bluff Park. We’ve got a pretty busy month lined up for the rest of the month, so I was glad we got to spend this one as low key as possible. I hope you guys are having a great week!
