This weekend was a much needed relaxing, sort of lazy weekend. It was almost pretty perfect that it rained the whole time, so I could lounge around the house in sweats and fuzzy Christmas socks.
Friday night, B and I went on our celebratory date night. We started the night at Carrigans for some cocktails, and then went over to the main event, Ovenbird. I’ve talked about them before on the blog, but they are still just as delicious. Their small plates are some of the most amazing I’ve ever had. We tried the mushroom conserva, beef shoulder complex, paella, empanada, and snapper throat. We ended the dinner with the seven layer chocolate cake, and it was seriously the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had. It was fun to try the snapper throat, but my favorites were the beef shoulder and the mushrooms. Hooray for paying back student loans!
Saturday, I got up and Sheff and I headed to the Y. We went and got all of our teacher gifts done, and picked up a few more gifts. S was in such a good mood, and it was so fun to run around getting things done with him. I had a hair appointment that afternoon, and then later, my sister came over for allllll the baking. We baked about six different kinds of goodies. It was so fun. We called it a night pretty early.
Sunday, I got up and headed to the Y again to get in my endurance run (6.5 miles!), and then went and completely finished my shopping. I came home, and B took Sheff out for a little bit so I could get all the things wrapped. We spent the rest of the day just watching movies and football. We got sushi for dinner and finished the night with a Christmas Vacation viewing and some wine.
Hope y’all had a great weekend!
