This weekend was pretty good – the weather was gorgeous (albeit, a little hot and humid), and there was so much good food eaten!
Friday night, we got take-out sushi and went to bed pretty early. It had been another long week, and I really just wanted to put it all behind me.
Saturday, my sister took Sheffield, so B and I had a kid-free day. We really did nothing during the day except lounge in the pool with a few beverages. Later that night, we had a very small gathering for a friend’s 40th birthday. Can I say how good it was just to see people, and talk to people in person? It was great – plus they had all the delicious snacks, and it was so good. B and I clean up nice, right?
Sunday, we went down to Bennett’s parents house so they could see Sheffield. We did a pre-Memorial Day cookout and watched the live golf thing that was on. It was so fun to watch live sports you guys!! Sheffield was looking so cute in his little shirt! We came home that night, popped some popcorn and watched Harry Potter. It was such a good night.
Memorial Day was pretty fun – we spent most of the day outside, and even though I had to work quite a bit, it was still pretty fun. We grilled out hot dogs, and had pasta salad and French fries. We Facetimed Poppa, and watched Toy Story while we were eating. We figured it was a holiday, so we could break the rules a little bit by watching TV during dinner.
We also got the news yesterday that Sheff’s daycare will be opening up on June 1st. They sent us a giant list of all of the precautions they are taking during the reopening. B and I feel that they are doing enough to protect the children, and we will be sending him back. I am also back to work on June 1st, so it will feel just a little normal. We ended up canceling our Y membership, as they are also reopening on the 1st, but cannot tell us when they will be able to take the kids back. Which is pretty much what we were using it for – so we ordered a treadmill, and will be doing the running from our own house for now.
I hope you all had a great long weekend, and hooray for a short week!
