This past weekend pretty much revolved around me and B getting to go down to the Plains to see our Auburn Tigers play! It was my first football game in five years! Unfortunately it was the early 11 am game, so we went down to Montgomery on Friday night and got up super early to go get our tailgate on. Thankful for B’s parents for watching the boogs so we could have a half day to ourselves!
When we got to AU, we hurried over to Tiger Walk, and since the game was so early, we actually got to stand on the front row. That has never happened to me! We got to high five Carlson, Stidham and Coach Malzahn! It was so awesome. After Tiger Walk, we walked over to the Haley Center to go the AU Bookstore, where we stocked up on some AU goodies. We then walked back over to the car to refresh our drinks before heading into the stadium.
In case you’re not an Auburn fan, we ended up winning the game in the last four minutes! It was such a good game to get to go to!! After our win, we headed to Sky Bar for one drink, then off to Toomer’s corner to celebrate, and then over to Toomer’s Lemonade for a large lemonade.
We drove back to the Ham on Saturday night and had a delicious Mellow Mushroom pizza for dinner.
On Sunday, we had Robyn and her crew over in the morning for snacks and some NFL watching. The kids played beautifully by themselves downstairs in the playroom, so the adults got to have some adult talking time. Later that night, June and her boo came over to watch the Packers lose a disappointing game to the Pats. It was such a fun weekend – I had such a good time getting some solo time with the hubs and visiting my alma mater. Without Auburn, I’m not sure where I’d be. I’ll always love going home to that place.
We’ll be up late tonight watching the election returns – I hope you all got out and voted. I won’t say that I don’t care who you voted for, because I do, but even saying that, I hope you voted. Everyone’s voice deserves to be heard.
