B and I continued our Friday afternoon cocktail tradition on Friday evening by heading to the Atomic for some cocktails. I had the Wade Armstrong, and it was so perfect. After that hellacious week, I really needed to unwind with a delicious (and strong) beverage.
Sheffield’s birthday party day! This kid was pumped from the second he woke up on Saturday. My sister and I went to get all of the balloons – and managed to snag a Chick-Fil-A biscuit beforehand. After that, I headed home to pick up Sheffield to run to get a few last minute things while B mowed the grass and got the yard looking good. We picked up his cake and came on back to the house. B’s parents came up a little early and we went to get Mexican for lunch. I snuck in a quick nap before making myself get up to get everything ready for the party. We cleaned the pool up, got the slip n slide out, put up decorations outside and got ready for everyone to come. It was super hot and thundered pretty much the whole time, but I think the kiddos had a good time! Next year, though – Chuck E Cheese. B and i were in bed by 8pm, and I was out by 815.
The day got off to a good start with Sheffield playing with all of his new toys and meeting the in-laws for breakfast at Metro Diner. I had the gym at 1030, and then B and I just lounged around during nap time. After naps, boogs and I headed down to Eclectic for a baby shower. Sheffield had such a good time! There were a few other kids there, and the next door neighbors had chickens and a garden. The lady from next door was so sweet and took all the kids around to pick strawberries, tomatoes and corn. It was so good to see Lindsey and her family again, and I know Sheffield had a blast. He even got himself a little girlfriend!
We unfortunately got stuck in three giant thunderstorms on the way home, and boogs didn’t get to bed until 9pm – oops. It was such a good weekend of celebrations, but this introvert is ready for a nice quiet weekend. Hoping we’ll get one this upcoming weekend!
