B and I decided to leave work early and head to Trimtab to try their strawberry cream ale. It was delicious! We even left with a six pack of that one, and a few others as well. Trimtab definitely houses our favorite Birmingham beers – hands down.
When we got home, we spent the rest of the afternoon outside, letting boogs play in his water table. He got himself soaked, so he wanted us to take his shirt off. We told him to make a muscle, and this is what we got.
They opened up a new Hibachi Express place by Publix, so we ordered in, had a bottle of wine and watched some HGTV.
Saturday morning, we went out to Shipley’s Doughnuts to get Saturday doughnuts, run some errands and were in the pool by 1030.
And then we played in the pool some more all afternoon – Last year the water in the pool came up to his shoulders, and this year it’s almost at his belly button – we can’t believe how much he’s grown in just a year. It’s insanity.
After pool time, we went in for early bath and a mini pizza party – B and I were heading out for date night! We got to go to the Barons game, and it was such a perfect night for baseball. After the game, we headed to Ghost Train Brewery to have a few post-game brews. They have this amazing boysenberry sour beer that they turned into a smoothie – and it was delicious. I’m still not a giant fan of their beers, but hey, it was a good time.
Sunday we headed down to B parents house for the day. We had lunch and some Bloody’s, and Sheff played outside blowing pinwheels and playing in the sprinkler. I did get in a pretty sweet nap, so I call it a win.
Next weekend is going to be super busy with Dad in town, and my sister moving down to Birmingham (!!!) – so I’m glad we had a really quiet weekend. I hope you guys had a nice relaxing weekend too!
