Well, it’s Wednesday, so I don’t really remember much about last week. I know it was bad enough that B and I wanted a happy hour on Friday. After work we headed to Brick & Tin for their happy hour: $5 wine!! Love language right there. After that, we headed for Mexican and came home to watch Beauty and the Beast – Sheff’s new favorite. He also only eats cheese dip when we go to Mexican, so we usually end up ordering a giant vat of cheese dip. I just love that kid.
Saturday I got up and hit the Y early to get in my eight miles. So close to D-day for the half-marathon, and I can’t wait till I’m not running my training runs on the weekend!! I did I though, with no hip pain or knee pain, so I was pretty excited about that. After the run, we got ready and headed over to Nadine’s house!! We celebrated Christmas (only a month late!), and we finally go to check out their new house! It was so good for the kids to get to see each other and play, Nadine made a bomb ass meat and cheese board, and of course we got to catch up with each other. It was such a fun day, and those seven hours passed like it was nothing. It’s so good to have friends like that in my life. We, of course, didn’t get any pictures together, but got some of the kids opening their presents, playing dress up, and doing their craft!
Sunday, I got to go out and help my sister furniture shop. We got lunch first (duh) at Yummy Bowl, and it was so good. You basically pick all of the stuff you want in your bowl, they make it for you and bring it to the table. After our shopping adventures, I came home and we decided that it was a perfect day to make some gumbo. Sheffield helped us while we listened to some Mardi Gras music and wore Mardi Gras beads to get us into the spirit. We ended the night by watching the flat-earth documentary on Netflix and called it a night.
We’ve got absolutely nothing planned for this upcoming weekend, and I couldn’t be more happy about it!
