Check out the cool kid on Friday! He got his first pair of Converse on – and he was so proud of them! He wanted to show everyone his new kicks.
Saturday I woke up early for my normal OTF class – they changed up the schedules at the studio, so my Saturday class will be the only time I’ll get to have my favorite coach Brad. I was just a tad bummed when that got announced. Anyway, we got up and got packed (since we were heading down to B’s parents house), and met Robyn and her family in Alabaster for the Cultivate Church helicopter egg drop. They did a normal egg hunt for the little kiddos, and then for the older ones, they actually had helicopter come and drop eggs before all the older kids went to get theirs. It was so neat to watch. The helicopter was really low, just dumping trash bags of eggs out onto the ground. I definitely think we’ll be headed back next year. Sheffield wanted to do the hunt all by himself, so I kept my distance behind him to let him find his own eggs. He only got four, but he was pretty darn proud of himself.
After the egg hunt, we drove down to Montgomery to spend Easter with B’s parents. We dyed eggs and ate pizza and had a pretty early bed time. Sunday morning, I got up pretty early to hide the Easter eggs outside. I had put together his basket and hidden it the night before. Do you guys hide the kids’ Easter basket? I think it adds one more fun element to Easter – even though I asked my mom, and she said she never did that for us. So, I have no clue where I got it from. Anyway, he walked past it twice before we had to tell him to go back and look again. It was full of dollar spot PJ mask goodness. That kid has a deep obsession with the PJ Masks – so he was pretty happy with his basket. Plus, we got to use his PJ Mask band-aids when he took a nasty spill on the concrete right before we got in the car to go home. We got to take a few family photos, and the weather was absolutely gorgeous.
I even got as close as I’ve gotten to making my deviled eggs taste just like my mom’s! I hope you guys had a great weekend with delicious food and family! We are finally looking forward to a weekend with absolutely no plans!
