Last Friday, S and I had another date night. We ordered in some Mexican and watched Coco to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. S got to stay up a little bit later, and I went to bed pretty much at the same time he did. B was out, so no shame in my going to bed at 830 on a Friday game.
Saturday we got up and hit the Y early. Got our traditional gameday Chick-fil-a, and came home to watch Gameday before meeting up with Nadine and her crew at a new brewery in Trussville – Ferus Ales. We tried pretty much all of their apps, and a bite of one of their burgers, and it was amazing. Plus their sour blueberry beer was incredible. We haven’t seen them since August (face plant emoji – MUST GET BETTER), so it was so good to sit and catch up. Plus S and Z are at good ages to be able to communicate with each other, and they are so sweet together. We ended Saturday by watching a way-too-close AU game and called it a night early.
Sunday I got up, hit the Y, ran some errands (got sooo many good things at Homegoods on clearance!), and came home and made my first from scratch apple pie (recipe I used will be on the blog tomorrow). S helped me dump all the ingredients in, and then I got his approval when he woke up from his nap and had a slice. We watched the Packers bring home a big fat loss, and finished the night catching up on our shows. I couldn’t believe this picture of S – he looks so old in this picture. I can’t even with how fast he is growing. He’s been getting pretty defiant lately, but dammit if he still isn’t just the cutest.
And hooray! – bonus Halloween material coming up! We made one more jack-o-lantern; we decided on a vampire one and watched Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin. It was freezing on Halloween night, but Mighty Marshall made it through our normal trick-or-treating loop before coming home and getting all snuggly in pajamas and blankets for bed.
Hope y’all had a great weekend and a good start to the week!
