This weekend was blazing hot – and I mean so hot that our little pool felt like bath water and offered no relief. But it was still fun nonetheless.
Friday night we tried some take-out from a new to us Indian restaurant, Silver Coin in Hoover. It was incredible! And we definitely over ordered – we had a ton of leftovers, but everything was so good. I think we’re already planning for a return trip this weekend. We watched some TV, and I went to bed fairly early. I think on Fridays, my body just gives out – and it says peace out at like 8pm.
Saturday morning, I decided to give my body a physical rest. It was my first “off” workout day in a few weeks, and it felt amazing. I had my hair appointment with my favorite girl Hannah at Wheelhouse Salon downtown, and she worked her magic on me for real. I’ve been wanting to go uber blonde for awhile, but I didn’t just want it all to be in one fell swoop, so she’s gradually getting me there. I often struggle with pictures of myself, but really like how happy I look in the selfie I got in my car to show off Hannah’s work.
Saturday when I got home, we got in the pool, but weren’t in long just because of how hot it was! Luckily, Sheff’s game that he bought with his birthday money (Kirby!!) came, and we let him play for a little bit. It was his “first” transaction, and while I wish we would have been able to see him hand his money to a cash-out clerk at a game store, it was still pretty cute to see how excited he was when it came in the mail.
Sunday, I got up and ran some errands with my sister – of course with a mask! We hit up Target – I had a few things to return and a few food things to get for the week. After that, we decided to get some breakfast. I had wanted to take her to a few places that she hadn’t been to, but there were so many people at all of them, that we opted to just hit up Jack’s for some biscuits. We were literally the only people in there eating, and well, their biscuits are amazing.
Since there won’t be a pre-k graduation at school this year, I asked one of my friends who had taken some of S’s pictures before to take a few for us. We had bought a suit from Macy’s on clearance for like $8, and she had a cap and gown for us to use. They turned out amazing, and I’ll be sharing them here soon. He looks so big in those pictures that I can hardly believe he’s only five!
It was a nice relaxing weekend – am hoping for a much slower week work-wise!! Hope you had a good weekend!
