Friday, B and I met up for our week wind-down cocktail at Carrigans. I didn’t have anything super fun (thanks Weight Watchers!), but did really enjoy my vodka soda! After that, I went to pick up boogs for our mama/sheffy date night! B had his fantasy football draft, so sheffster and I had a night planned of movies and junk food! I had gone to TJ Maxx earlier in the day and picked up some goodies – European cookies, fancy gummy worms and eyeball chocolates! We got into comfy clothes, and settled in for a viewing of Cars 3. Lightning was Sheffield’s first love, so I love that he still loves him. Of course, we had to make silly faces. After Sheff went to bed, I got to watch Guernsey on Netflix and was one happy girl.
Saturday, I got up and did my normal OTF, made the kiddo some waffles for breakfast, and then we were off to meet Nadine and her crew for some shopping and lunch! We hit up Nordstrom rack, where I had some incredible good luck and swiped up five tops and found some fun things for Sheff. We were then off to try to get into Bham’s newest obsession, Shake Shack! But alas, the line was out the door, and I don’t wait in lines when it’s 90 degrees with toddlers. It just isn’t happening. We ended up going to the Tavern, ordering burgers and mimosas, and it was just as fun. We spent the afternoon in the pool, and just vegged out the rest of the night. (Nadine took the last picture of the kiddos – it was the best either one of us was able to do. Plus – why does my child always look like a brooding teenager?)
Sunday – we reinstated no TV Sunday mornings. Instead, we listened to music and went to play outside. B took him on a Lowe’s and Publix shopping trip, while I got to go and eat Mexican and go shopping with my sister! A sister date had been long overdue, and it was really nice to just eat queso and be able to look at things without having a toddler running around or saying “mommy” every five seconds. We got to roam around At Home, Kohls, and Target! After Sheff woke up from his nap, we made Reese’s Pieces peanut butter cookies (recipe to come), and Sheffield played with all the pillows and his Blaze – making obstacle courses for him to get through. Then he proceeded to cover me in Curious George stickers and make me take pictures. I also got to try that pumpkin pie coffee, and besides smelling super yummy, it really was super yummy. Even without creamer. B and I ended up on the couch watching TV for the rest of the night -perfect ending to the weekend.
And a bonus Monday, because it happened before I got my weekend post up. I got to go to a Birmingham Barons game with my sister and some of my coworkers. It was a beautiful night, we got to sit right behind the dug out, and I even got to have a beer (within my day’s points, of course). It was a really nice way to start the work week.
We are looking forward to the three day weekend, and the start of some AUBURN football!!! Cue all the snacks and bourbon!! What are some of your favorite apps that I need to make?
