Oy – this weekend. I feel like Sheffield was just hell-bent on misbehaving this weekend. He had his moments, but oh man – he just doesn’t want to listen. And I’m guilty of it, too – of posting only the good, but just know that this weekend was tough, and I yelled and cried and yelled some more.
On Saturday, we all got up and headed to the Y. I got a really good 5 miles in – at about 52 minutes. S loves playing with the other kids in the kid room, so that is one giant benefit to the Y. After the gym, B had to do some work, so Sheff and I did our rounds at Target. Then we headed up to Hop City to try a few beers and the Chronic Taco truck that was parked out front. We got the tater tots topped with queso and steak tacos. The weather was awful for the rest of the day, so we just chilled inside and watched movies. That night I got to have a sushi date with Cara at Rock N Roll Sushi, and it was such a good time.
Sunday morning, we went over to Turkey Creek Park for Sheff’s first hike. He did pretty good, and I was thankful that we ran into some water for him to play in. It was really fun, and I know we’ll definitely head back there this summer. We didn’t do much else, except hang in the pool, make some banana pudding, and some cookies for B’s coworkers, enjoy some smoked wings and a beer, and called it a night.
All in all, it was a pretty good weekend. The banana pudding turned out amazing, and we found a new place to go during the summer. Hope y’all had a good weekend too!
