This was a pretty good weekend — I mean how could celebrating six years of marriage suck?
Friday night was pretty chill. We stayed in and just had some guacamole for dinner. B’s guacamole is pretty much the best stuff on earth, and we’ve made meals out of it quite a few times.
Saturday – B had some anniversary plans that I didn’t know about. The sixth year is about iron and candy. So, what better way than to celebrate at the biggest iron statue in the nation? We headed down to Vulcan for a few pics, and then over to Sugar candy store in Mountain Brook. I can’t wait to go back to this place — I got gummy sharks, chocolate-covered gummy bears (weird concept, but pretty much the greatest thing on earth) and hot tamales. They have pretty much everything you could possibly want.
Later that night, we went to Galley & Garden downtown for dinner. It was amazing — the risotto was delicious as was the beef filet. B got a watermelon gin drink that looked delicious — and his fried oysters were amazing as well. Funny sixth anniversary story? B forgot his wallet, and since I was all purseless, I had to run back to the house to get our cash. Poor B was embarrassed, but it really wasn’t that big of a deal. We ended up stopping at Publix on the way home for cake slices and passing out early.
Sunday — the weather was beautiful so we went on a 4 mile walk and then came home to clean and relax.
I hope everyone had a good weekend and good vibes for a great week!
