It’s no secret to anyone I talk to, that last week was really hard. B was out of town this week, I had a semi breakdown about not spending time with my baby, and he was teething/sick/not happy from shots all week – so sleep was scarce and tears were prevalent.
To say that I was happy that B was back was an understatement. Probably of the century. Like never leave again, ok?
Alright now, that’s out of the way, let’s get on to the weekend.
Friday for lunch with coworker, I got to have something that I was super craving – a fish taco from Cantina! My absolute favorite fish taco in the world – so so good.
Then that night, we went out on our every other Friday date night. We got to go to Bettola for amazing antipasti and a delicious pizza. And of course my bestie, wine, made an appearance.
After dinner, we headed to 41st Street Pub for a Moscow mule, and headed home to relieve the baby sitter.
Can I just say that these every other Friday date nights have done wonders for me and B? I love getting to get semi-dressed up and just feel like a wife every now and then. I hate that it was mostly my fault that we waited so long to get a baby-sitter.
Saturday was filled with a trip to Atlanta for a dear old friend’s baby shower. As per requested, boo made the trip with me. And while the car rides weren’t completely intolerable with him, the actual shower was. He fought sleep in the car, so his thirty minute nap wasn’t agreeing with him – and he got so grumpy by the time an hour had passed that we just had to come on back to Bham. I had grand visions of getting sweet pictures of him with her, but no – he was showing his little shy side and really just wanted to stay by mama’s side. So, no pictures.
Sunday was filled with Nadine’s beautiful baby shower. It was so amazing to finally get to meet her mom and sister, and the shower was absolutely beautiful. I also didn’t get any pictures there because I was too busy stuffing my face with cookies and Snyder’s chips. That little girl of hers is spoiled rotten and so loved already, and I can’t wait to spoil her even more!
We finished up Sunday watching the Pack lose BADLY to the Cowboys, and then drowning our sorrows with some wine and smoked wings.
Today is a good day though – I finished up some chores that didn’t get done this weekend due to baby shower extravaganza, and then I’m going to go scoop up baby boo for some Railroad Park fun. Hope y’all had a great weekend too!
