One of these days I’ll get this post up on an actual Monday – I’ll do my best.
Saturday morning B and I had pegged as Sheffield’s first visit to Waffle House. As an Atlantan, I love Waffle House up and down – every single thing about it. And since S is as big an aficionado of breakfast food as I am – I’m not sure why we didn’t think of this idea sooner. So he ate his entire waffle and even a little bit of sausage. AND he was even on his best behavior.
After breakfast, boogs and I ran errands until nap time. We spent the rest of the afternoon playing and reading. It was super hot, so we didn’t really spend that much time outside .
Sunday morning S and I hit up the playground, and got there so early that we were the only people there. It didn’t last too long – but we were only there about an hour since it was so damn hot.
When we got home, we turned the sprinklers on and cooled off from playing all morning.
After naps, we all got into the pool and then headed up to Bluff Park Ice Cream Shoppe for some ice cream. S loves it there – and they even give away free baby cones.
We ended the weekend by buying colorful pillows and some new pans at Home Goods — ahhh, the exciting life of parents on the weekend.
It was an amazing weekend – just one where boogs was in a good mood the whole time, nothing went wrong – and it just made me long for another weekend. Why can’t we have more of those and less weekdays?
**on a side note, I’ve left my feelings about Charlottesville out of my blog. I try to keep this a feel good space (even when I have things to vent about) – even though I fully believe that we must keep resisting the BS that seems to surround us daily. Love trumps hate. Love trumps hate. Love trumps hate.
