On Friday, Nadine and I celebrated #nationalguacamoleday with lunch at Babalu. Nadine and I shared a bow of delicious guac, and I got a grilled shrimp taco that was amazing. I wanted to eat a little light since I knew we would be heading to the Greek Food Festival that afternoon.
I was so excited to get off work on Friday, because last work week was horrible, and I was only there for three days. Fridays are happy days, because I get to spend two full days with my guys. And we started it at the Greek Festival right after work. Since B and I have been together in Birmingham, we have always gone – it’s kind of our thing, and this year it’s kind of more special. Sheffield goes to the daycare at the church that hosts the festival – and this time we ran into the director, and one of the ladies serving loukamathes asked for a high fave, and he gave it to her, and she actually told him that she loved him. It was the sweetest thing ever — ALSO, I’m pretty sure Sheffield can say Opa!
B had to work in the morning, so Sheffield and I ate doughnuts, got Starbucks and perused through Target. After B got home, we went over to Nadine’s so I could help her paint her nursery while B and the boys watched football and the boo. I will say that Nadine makes the best game day food EVER. Even baby boo was obsessed with the cake batter dip and Nillas!
After the painting, we came home and watched Auburn lose. It is going to be a loooooooooooooooooong college football season in this house. Long. Although, Sheffield was awake for their first touchdown where we actually looked decent. Would it have been bad parenting to keep him up and use him as a good luck charm? Yes? Yeah, I thought so too.
Sheffy and I again started the day with a trip to Target — apparently it’s my therapy. And then it was a full day of watching NFL games!! I know that I live in the south, but my heart belongs to the pros guys. It just does. I love my Packers. But since they clearly don’t love me back, they sucked it up majorly bad on Sunday Night Football, and lost to the Vikings. At least boo looked cute.
And what would a weekend be without playing with some toilet paper? (side note: it’s really hard to discipline a kid when you think what they’re doing is hilarious. Dad to the discipline rescue on this one).
So all in all – it was a weekend full of Sheffy snuggles and football losses. Next weekend we have special family visitors, so hopefully we’ll have a nice full weekend of things to do.
