Weekending: Basketball and St Paddy’s

March 19, 2018 · 2 Comments

Friday was a good day.  We had wings brought in to work, got to watch a few basketball games, and then went to get a good workout.  We had already decided that Friday was going to be pizza party night, because AU was playing!  We played like utter garbage, but ended up winning the first game!  Boogs got to stay up a little later than his normal bed time, so we think he had a pretty good time.

Saturday – St Paddys!  We got up and got our green on!  B made Jell-O shots the night before, so we had to try one out of course!  Why don’t Jell-O shots get the respect they deserve?  They are so good!  We got really lucky that the rain that was hanging out in the morning was gone by the time we headed downtown to meet up with daycare mom and her crew.  There was so much for the kiddos to do!  We made green slime, threw baseballs, got terrified of the costumed Vulcan and Chick-fil-a cows.  We all had some Chick-fil-a for lunch and got ready to watch the parade.  B and I have never actually seen the parade before, but it was honestly a lot of fun!  They throw a ton of goodies out (Sheffield was content just hanging on Daddy’s shoulders), and it’s relatively short, so the attention span of the kiddos lasted the whole parade.  It really was a lot of fun.  Plus the day was gorgeous, so B and I sat on the patio and watched boogs play until it was time for dinner.

Sunday was super lazy.  We lounged around the morning listening to jazz music and playing with firetrucks.  We spent the rainy afternoon inside watching Auburn get stomped.  It was so bad at halftime that we turned it off and watched Clueless.

All in all it was a pretty good weekend, and we got to do something new in Birmingham.  We will definitely be going to that parade any time we’re in town for it  – it really was a blast!  Hope you guys had a good weekend!

Sounds the parade was a success! I forgot it was St Patty’s this weekend with everything going on. Not like it mattered, we couldn’t take Zoe out and chance anything anyways. I would pick CLueless over basketball all day every day lol. Such a classic movie!

So fun! We loooove St. Paddy’s day! 🙂 March Madness is huge here. Basketball was invented here and our team is usually really good, so KC and his parents have been watching a lot. I have too many other things to be doing than to sit and watch sports, but I am glad it is exciting for people. hehe 🙂 XO – Alexandra
