Reading: David Sedaris’ Calyspo. I’ve been having a hard time getting into any book and have DNF a ton, so maybe this one will stick.
Listening: I got off the podcast train for a minute, but hopped back on when I heard there was a second season of Up and Vanished.
Planning: My sister and I are having our first annual Hocus Pocus party – so we’re pinning all the food and cocktail recipes, and are even making our own wine glasses with some vinyl decals I found on Etsy. We’re also headed to Helen, GA this month, so trying to find some fun things to do while we’re there.
Eating; Tomorrow, we’re going to the Greek festival. It’s located conveniently at Sheffield’s daycare, so I will be eating gyros, baklava, pastichio and drinking their amazing red wine. I can’t wait.
Buying; Halloween baking things! We’re going to bake some cookies this weekend with sprinkles and frosting, and may even get the haunted house kit from Trader Joe’s. They also have sugar axes and spray on blood. It’s going to be so much fun.
Laughing; So I don’t cry? This Kavanaugh stuff has had me in a fit of rage for the past couple of weeks. It has seriously made me rethink that people are inherently good – now that they have the permission from the president, they feel it is ok to be assholes and without compassion, and it makes me sick to the core.
Loving: On my sweet Stella dog. She’s just not quite the spry little pup she used to be. Her eyes are starting to get foggy and bluish, her face fur is turning completely white, and she doesn’t want to run and play like she used to. She’s only 9, so we’re hopeful there’s a lot more years in there, but it’s hard to see her getting old.
