For some reason, I have gotten away from what gave me a whole lot of joy on this blog, and that is talking about food. Where to go around Birmingham, or where to go whenever we travel out of state. Talking about food and restaurants is my happy place, so I’m going to try to get back to that place ASAP.
One of the places I was most excited about trying out was Molly’s Rise and Shine. It is another place brought to you by the same folks who did Turkey and Wolf. The whole place is decked out in fun. From the colorful walls, to the salt and papper shakers being glued to Matchbox cars. The waitress even gave us toys for Sheffield to play with at the table. All the walls are lined with old board games and nostalgic toys.
I went into this place with one thing on my mind, and one thing only: The Grand Slam McMuffin.
I mean, look at this thing of beauty, right? It’s a sausage patty, topped with cheese, a hashbrown and ketchup all inside a delicious homemade English Muffin. I mean, shut the front door! This thing was absolutely amazing. I wanted another one immediately after eating it.
B wanted something a little lighter. He wasn’t down with all the sausage and ketchup and hashbrown goodness, so he decided on the deviled egg tostada.
This piece of deliciousness included cilantro, lime, refried beans, red onion, pickled peppers and spicy peanut salsa. B loved it.
I had their amazing cold brew to drink, and B got a celery soda. Sheff ate one of their biscuits, which, of course, was also delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try their sweet potato burrito, their homemade pastries, and their bagel tray.
Definitely hit up this place if you’re in NOLA – and don’t forget about Turkey and Wolf – they are a must-stop-at place, too!
