On Monday, we finally got to hear Baby J’s heart beat! It was incredible, and absolutely everything I could do to keep it together! B made it to this appointment, and I was so glad he was there. The first girl that came in, had a super hard time getting the heartbeat, and she had to reassure me a thousand times that she was new, and the baby was still really small, so it wasn’t uncommon to not get it at this appointment. She said the baby was sitting really really low and she just couldn’t get it.
She walked out to grab another girl, and she came in and got the heartbeat almost immediately. Strong and so so fast. 165 bpm. According to the wives tales, a heartbeat greater than 140 bpm indicates a girl, but the carrying super low would indicate boy. I don’t know. I talked to my mom and she said both my sister and I had fast heart beats and she carried us both low. And both girls.
They changed our due date to July 20th, and I “officially” was twelve weeks this past Monday, so I’ll be doing the bump update pictures on Mondays from now on.
They also brought up a dreaded page from my past: the blood clots. Since I suffered blood clots while I was in college, most likely due to birth control, I am now (or will be as soon as they get here) having to give myself injections every day. Who am I joking, B will most definitely be the one sticking me every night.
Plus’ to this: No blood clots during pregnancy. The medicine they have me on has zero chance of inducing any more blood clots, like the heparin I’m deathly allergic, too. And I will now have to be induced. Which I’m fine with — the worry of when it would happen and where was definitely at the top of my worrying list.
Anyway, that’s pretty much all for now. I’ve got another appointment January 26th to go over blood work and see how this new medicine is doing, and then at our appointment after that, we should be ready to find out the sex!!
