Two weeks ago when we decided to torture wait until dinner to find out the gender of our baby, B wanted to go to someplace nice to find out and celebrate.
So he did some research, and we decided on Bistro Two Eighteen in downtown. That little part of town was really quiet after 5pm since all the bankers had gone home, and there was only one couple in the restaurant besides ourselves.
It was a really nice little quaint place, and really a great place for date night, or for revealing life-changing information.
We started out with some drinks — a hand made orange cream soda for the preggo (it was amazing!) and a beer for the boy. We then ordered an appetizer that included fried snapper, calamari and fried shrimp. It was incredible.
Then for dinner, I got the steak (cooked enough so where I didn’t lose respect for myself, and also so baby didn’t get hurt) with potatoes and vegetables, and B got the snapper with blue grits. I ate every last bite of that huge steak — it was so good. And B only had good things to say about their snapper.
Also, here is a pic of what we got to open and be surprised with: heart emoji’s all over the place —
I definitely recommend this place for a nice quiet dinner date night — especially if you’re in the mood for some awesome food!
Hope y’all have a great weekend!! If you’re in Birmingham this weekend, make sure to check out Eat Drink Birmingham sponsored by the Alabama Brewer’s Guild and Birmingham Originals. I can’t partake in the drink part, but you can bet all your money that I’ll be doing all of the eating!
yum!! The food looks delicious! I love that you two waited and revealed the gender at dinner. So sweet!
That place looks pretty good. Was it expensive?
Looks delicious! Thanks for sharing, definitely putting it on my list of must try places in Birmingham. Congratulations on joining the boy mom club. It’s a wild ride!
That looks like a really nice place and the food looks delicious! So glad you had a great night celebrating! 🙂
I am not sure how you two lasted until dinner. I would have been TEARING in to that envelope immediately! But it is so sweet that you did! Also, that food looks delicious and now I must go!
Those pics look de-lish!!
