My Sheffy baby,
This letter is only a few days late — we just got to have your 2 month appointment today, so I wanted to wait to write to make sure you were doing well. And of course you are! You’ve finally made it to 10 pounds, 10.1 to be exact, and you are 23.5 inches long! You’re just going to be tall and skinny — and baby boy, there’s nothing wrong with that!
During these two months, you have started smiling at us purposely. It is the single greatest thing I have ever experienced — when I come to get you out of your crib in the morning, and you give me that big gummy smile, it makes my heart melt. You’ve also started getting pretty vocal — you coo with the best of them. You absolutely love your bear mobile, and you’ll have conversations with them. You also like the little wall “porcupine” looking things in our living room, and you’ll occasionally have a conversation with them too.
You’re starting to not hate tummy time — and you can actually get your head up pretty high! It’s so fun to watch you learning all of these new things.
My favorite part is still having you sleep on my chest. I love having you right there on me where you can hear my heartbeat. You sleep with your mouth open sometimes, and it’s just the cutest thing ever.
Sheffield, I can’t put in a letter ever how much your daddy and I love you — or just how much you’re loved in general. There are quite a few people who would do anything for you. I hope you know that — and I hope you feel loved. You are still the greatest and coolest thing I’ve ever done — keep being the smiley, music loving, car-seat sleeping little man you are.
Love,
yo momma
