My graphic for today is representative of how I’ve been feeling lately – just sort of all over the place. This week hasn’t been as intolerable as last week, but I still feel like I’m under a gray cloud most of the time. Maybe the upside is, the cloud isn’t dumping down buckets of rain all over me this week.
We had Sheffield’s first ever in person parent-teacher conference this week. It was nice to get to have that time to sit and talk about how Sheffield is at school. We learned that he is above-grade level in reading, in the most advanced math group, and is excellent with his writing. We are currently working on the difference between what is a “big deal” and what is a “little deal,” and the teacher (who we LOVE) gave us a way to start working on this, so we’re working on it. She told us he is very sensitive (which we knew), but he is kind and has no trouble getting along with everyone. Which is more important than the actual school stuff – but we’re also proud of him for that.
I’ve also solidified plans to go to Kansas City the first weekend of November for the Packers/Chiefs game. While I’m not thrilled that my first flight in almost two years will be solo, I’m sure that I’ll be fine. And getting to see the Pack is always worth it.
Anyway, on to the Friday things –
// Foo Fighters are my absolute favorite band. I love everything about Dave Grohl – I cannot wait to get my hands on this book.
// It’s Friday, so my mind gravitates toward pizza. The Founder’s Special at Donatos is my go-to for pizza. I know that Donatos started in Ohio, and they’re not everywhere (yet), but my goodness do they make a delicious pizza. It’s more expensive than your Pizza Hut or Domino’s, but man, it’s so good.
// I’ve been debating this trend with the white booties for a bit. Before pulling the trigger, I had to ask the bestie what she thought. She told me to do it, and I always need that kind of positive reinforcement in my life. They are not completely stark white, but more of a bone color, and I’ll think they’ll look great throughout the fall and winter.
// I definitely have a love/hate relationship with clothes from Amazon. Their sizing is like navigating the jungle, but I keep coming back for more. I’ve added this to my cart, and am just waiting for the right time to pull the trigger.
// No secret around these parts that Halloween is my favorite. And I’ve always loved the looks that Pink Lily is putting out, so it’s fun that they’ve done something super cute for Halloween. I’ve had my eye on this cute little jack-o-lantern with eyelashes tee for a minute.
// I suck at doing my eyebrows – and if we’re being honest, the whole makeup thing in general. I bought this to try and help, and love it. It’s super cheap, and I love the little fluffing brush.
// I don’t know why anyone would actual need sushi magnets, but I want them. They’re so blasted cute, and I’d love to put them on my filing cabinet at work.
We’ve got a super chill weekend on deck – am hoping to check out the new Ferus on 41st for lunch or something tomorrow (before watching what is sure to be an Auburn Football beatdown by UGA), and baseball is taking a break this weekend. A sort of all-star break if you will – we start again next week. Hope you all have a great weekend!
