I’m so proud of myself for getting my shit together for A (ONE) blog post this week, and linking up with my a-hole bro, Kristen. So what happened in the month of August — I’m going to break it down in black and white, because sometimes, I just love a good black and white photo.
Boo got tubes in his ears. I was being that ridiculous mom crying in the waiting room (you don’t get to hold them or anything during the surgery) saying I didn’t even say I love you to him – what if something happens?!?! Even though this is a pretty common procedure, and there were like two other kids in the waiting room getting ready to have them as well. AND that doctor’s name is McCool, so what could go wrong right? And of course nothing did — the worst part was trying to console him after waking up from the anesthesia – but he got a biscuit for being such a brave kid.
Speaking of eating, I pretty much have the pickiest eater known to MAN. We tried to introduce all sorts of food to him, and he loved every puree we put in front of his face, except for green beans (because green beans are gross), so we were all YEAH, non picky eater! Except not. He eats biscuits, pancakes and fruit. And that’s about it. Sooooo, any other picky eater mamas out there, HELP!
We are still taking about two naps a day (on the weekend – at daycare, he only gets one), and the boy loves his naps. And we love that he loves his naps. I try to sneak in at least once every few often to get a picture of him sleeping, because adorbs.
Bath time is still probably his most favorite time of day — either because he really likes the water, or because he’s like hell yeah — after bath time comes bed time, and BED TIME!!! We put his shovel in the tub as a bath toy, and that was probably the greatest idea of all time.
We’ve been venturing out more on weekends – he’s a pretty good kid out in public. He loves to look at people and wave – people watching is definitely one of his favorite things to do. We try to get out at least one weekend day so he’s not cooped up in the house all day. This will be so much easier to do once the temps start to fall.
Last weekend we had a going away party for a friend — it’s always so much fun to see all the kiddos together, especially since they’re pretty close in age. The food was delicious and so was the wine!
This little guy loves the phone, and loves seeing himself in it. The faces he makes when he sees himself are the best.
And then of course Stell-dog. Poor Stella — that baby wears her out.
So that was our August. It wasn’t very eventful, but it was also hot as all get out. I am so looking forward to doing all the fun fall things with him this year.
